Time flies!

November 21, 2016

It’s rapidly coming to the end of 2016 and once again I find it quite daunting as I am faced with the fact that another year has gone by.
Did I achieve everything that I had hoped this past year? Well the answer is clearly no. Then I suppose I could argue there are still 5 weeks to go. Hum!

A couple of things which I have done recently and I’m very pleased about are:
I have finalised more music for the Chavos production.
And, started working with a lovely children’s magazine, Kids on the Costa. Anyone who knows me will soon guess that they are based in Spain.

As for the production, I was looking through some of my old blogs recently and realised that the last time I really did a detailed blog about the Chavos Musical was on August 24th 2015.
More talk of how time flies!

Well you really must read that blog if nothing else, and then here’s the update of where I am today.
Since then, I did a small amount of work-shopping with a stage school – mentioning no names – but it was encouraging.
Started putting music gaps together and finalising the last couple of songs with a great musical theatre composer and then became embroiled in other things which took priority. Yes, life gets in the way of those dreams and visions but today I’m back on track.

You know folks it would be so easy to give up, wouldn’t it? So often we hear of people who say, ‘I tried.’ The numbers of small business start ups who fail is staggering. Life isn’t easy. But I can’t imagine the pain of not having run the race and wondering, what If?
So I carry on. As and when time and money permits.

So what else?

Well the next three picture books in the Rianbo’s Travels series have been finalised and are now awaiting print.

Final publication date not yet decided. And I am working on some of my short stories for audio/radio.
So thinking about taking time out. We all need to prioritise and sometimes what we think comes next has to wait. I love to take time out at my Spanish retreat where there is nothing to hear each morning other than the bark of the farmer’s dog and the crow of the cockerel. Having just returned from a few days I am stunned by how much the temperatures have dropped here in Yorkshire. I’m sure it wasn’t as cold as this when I left. Then a few days in the sunshine does impact the body and, I had adjusted to coffee and tapas outdoors.

Now it’s back to a cup of hot Yorkshire Tea by the fire.

And of course wondering how much I can achieve before the year is out.

Chat soon.
