On the move

13 September 2011 12:00AM

How quickly time passes, not blogged since the 25th August! So what exciting things have I been doing since then?
I spent 6 days basking in the Spanish sunshine, enjoying a much needed rest, though I was half way up a mountain in the middle of nowhere. Then had a mad dash to London to a fabulous food tasting event at Canning House. Mexican chef- Angeles Ayala excelled and produced some superb tasters. A margarita cocktail with a difference, crab and prawn ceviche, nopalitos salad with salsa Mexicana were just 3 of the culinary delights.
I had the pleasure of meeting many interesting people including the author of the recently published book – The Mango Orchard. Robin Bayley, researched his great-grandfather’s footsteps which took him on a Mexican adventure in search of the mango orchard. Robin’s website iswww.themangoorchard.com should you wish to find out more. I will certainly be reading it as soon as possible.
I also found time to meet my great Mexican friend Salvador Jimenez Hernandez to talk about the music for the ball. www.mariachimexteca.com
I’m now back in Yorkshire, work, work, work, not enough hours in the day! Only 7 weeks to the ball and lots to do.

So I invite you to join me at the first annual Chavos Ball, sponsored by Sharon House Publishing Ltd, in aid of R.C.C. International – Raising funds for street children in the UK and overseas.
On 29th October 2011, the venue, The Queens Hotel, at the heart of city square in Leeds will host this black tie ball with a Mexican flavour. A spectacular event for you and your guests:- including a drinks reception with entertainment before entering the ballroom for a sumptuous four course meal. Whilst dining you will be a serenaded by the UK’s leading mariachi band – Mariachi Mexteca and before taking to the dance floor there will be a charity auction/raffle and other surprises.
A night you don’t want to miss!
Tickets cost £60 each and with limited availability for tables, book early to avoid disappointment.
Please call Sharon House Publishing on             01924 279966       or email your name and contact details to [email protected] for further information or to purchase tickets.
