New Year thoughts

September 15, 2015

How random is this? A blog about New Year in September. Well here’s my reasoning…

New year is celebrated by millions of people all over the world without actually knowing why. They just celebrate, and many on the 31st December. In reality it depends on the culture and traditions that you were born into.

It’s often a time for reflection and decision making. Consequently all those New Year resolutions – yes many of which are broken – but a time when people generally re- evaluate their lives.

But why wait till New Year to do that?
Everyday/any day, could be the new beginning, your New Year. Every new day is the first day of the rest of your life, isn’t it?

Did you know that for thousands of years man kept changing the celebration and, birthed from Pagan traditions it has varied from month to month, finally settling on 31st December for many.
Unless you are a Jew of course, or Muslim or are even Chinese. My Jewish friends are just about to celebrate their New Year 13th-15th, September, and my Muslim friends will celebrate in October.
So what am I saying?

Exactly this….
Why not set aside some time this week just for you. One evening, or perhaps a day if your calendar will allow.
Make a list of what you want to achieve in the next 12 months. Reflect on what has gone and any changes that you may need to make moving forward.
A few thoughts,
What needs to go? Any negative people in your life that you need to extinguish. Sounds harsh but it’s true.
Anyone in your life for the wrong reason? True friendship should give and take.
Do you need to de-clutter your life, may be be bold enough to make some life changing decisions?

Basically don’t live with regrets. Aspire to be all that you were born to be and approach the next year with positive affirmations.
Start now! This can be your New Year, New Beginnings. Why wait?

Enjoy
