Sunny Sunday

March 11, 2012

What a beautiful day. Shame that I’m now sat on the train heading for London, the sun glaring through the window, and I could have been walking in the park with Butler and Gracie. Awh! I so love my little doggies, but on second thoughts may be one walk today is enough. Knowing that I had a heavy schedule this week I was up bright and early, household chores completed, washing on the line and case packed. Then out for a lovely morning walk in the sunshine. Meandering along before I had even passed the cottage next door, Gracie decided to poop at the entrance to my neighbour’s garden. Ordinarily not a problem and I did have as always, my pooper scooper and doggie bags-well actually nappy sacs-with me. H-o-w-e-v-e-r, unfortunately on this occasion doggy bag and pooper scooper did not suffice and the sweet little lady after being horrified when she saw Gracie’s deposit returned with masses of kitchen roll and a kettle of recently boiled water. ‘At least you clean it up,’ she said, establishing the fact that I was actually making an effort. Uhm, I mused pointing to the sign on the nearby lamp-post which stated in bold black writing. ‘£1.000.00 fine for dog fowling’. Considering the mess she was so sweet. I apologetically helped her restore the garden entrance to normal and speedily left as she told me that she didn’t like dogs at all, and asked what she thought I should spray on the cleaned up area to remove any left behind odour. Bless her and bless my little dogs!

So now I’m on the train to London leaving behind the responsibility with someone else in the household to walk the ‘sweeties’ tonight. And I wonder what Gracie had eaten to cause such a blow- out. Ergh!

Meanwhile, I did want to blog about children this weekend as they have been so very much on my heart all week, especially as I saw the recently released video about the ‘Invisible Children,’ and Joseph Kony who has abducted thousands of children into his rebel army.

 So next blog… children.
